NIPFN Kenya participated in 8th Devolution Conference from 15th to 18th August 2023 in Eldoret. The 1st Biannual Conference was graced by H.E Dr William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and attended by over 10,000 delegates. The conference marked ten years since the inception of devolution and was themed “The Present and the Future.”
NIPFN Kenya exhibited at the conference and disseminated various nutrition policy research outputs. The project exhibition booth was a beehive of activities with dignitaries and delegates visiting and getting to learn more about NIPFN.
NIPFN’s stand at the conference hosted Governors H.E Mutula Kilonzo Jnr of Makueni County, H.E Kenneth Lusaka of Bungoma County and H.E George Natembeya of TransNzoia County among other dignitaries.
Speaking at the conference, President Ruto emphasized the importance of devolution in empowering counties to achieve their obligations throughout his speech and underscored the crucial role agriculture plays in food and nutrition security in Kenya.
